We're more than digital. We're improving lives.

This is a fixed term contract.

Data offers exciting possibilities for progress and innovation - but it must be used responsibly. As an Information Governance Analyst, you'll help the organisation to get the most out of our information assets whilst ensuring legal compliance.

A key part of the Digital and IT team, you'll ensure that data and information is managed appropriately and effectively throughout its lifecycle. We'll look to you to support an information governance framework that will help us comply with laws and regulations relating to the accessing, handling, classification, retention, sharing and disposal of information. You'll also support the coordination of a network of information asset owners, with representatives from across the council, helping them to understand their responsibilities and providing specialist support and advice. As one of our resident IG experts, you'll help communicate and enforce relevant policies, support information governance training, and maintain records and reports.

It's work that has big implications for the implementation of our transformation programme and Digital Strategy. You'll therefore need experience in a similar role and an excellent grasp of information governance, ideally gained in the public sector. With this background, you'll know how to maintain information governance frameworks and support publication schemes and open data. And crucially, you'll know how to explain technical concepts in non-technical language and why information governance is so important.

In return, we can offer the chance to be part of an inclusive team, within an incredible borough. Hounslow has green spaces, unique history, cosmopolitan hubs and fantastic transport links - in short, it's unlike anywhere else. At the heart of all this is our council, offering flexible working, career development and a whole range of generous benefits.

Join us at the forefront of innovation and use your skills to make a positive impact.

Please note to apply for this role you need to have eligibility to work in the UK and to be able to travel to Hounslow when working from home restrictions are lifted.
