My client is a leading B2B online marketplace for flexible energy supply in the UK, and a pace setter in a sector that’s poised to transform smart energy tech by enabling renewables, batteries and electric vehicles to balance the grid, both in the UK and abroad. They are looking for a Cloud Engineer to join a growing team to scale and improve their current platform. The software stack comprises a single-page app and a backend running on a serverless infrastructure. The successful Cloud Engineer work within the existing infrastructure team - helping scale the platform and enable other product focussed teams to monitor and support their code in production. Day to day, the cloud engineer will be involved in writing and reviewing code as well as taking part in designing or influencing the architecture of new features, alongside cross-functional teams of developers, designers and product managers. This is a hands-on role with the potential for line management in the future. The role will be offered to a Clound Engineer who has the following experienc5+ years of professional experience working with at least some of the tech stack which includes: Python, Django, PostgreSQL, VueJS, Ansible, AWS CDK .Experience with AWS services used such as Lambda, RDS/Aurora, SNS, Step Functions.A desire to contribute to technical architecture and to help drive technical decisions.A strong communicator who can clearly explain complex technical concepts to peers, including non-technical team members.Commitment to good practices for continuous delivery including infrastructure as code, code reviews, testing and documentation.Motivated by the mission to make our communities energy system smart, flexible and clean.Prior experience working within a cross-functional team solving complex business problems.This excellent role has a competitive salary, with share options as standard. The range for this role is £60-70,000. No team members have been furloughed during the pandemic and every member of the team was provided with the equipment they need to work comfortably and effectively in a remote setting.
