The organisation are seeking to onboard a Senior DevOps Engineer to enhance their capability and push their highly successful business model into 2022 and 2023.Coexisting in an R&D and Product Team, you work in a small autonomous Teams of up to 7 people which fit into strategically aligned Streams.The ideal person will include an SRE or who can undertake Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) requirements to take a lead role on this adventure. This cross-functional remit is to offer a clear strategic priorities for building several new cross-functional Teams On a day-to-day basis as you will be tasked to deliver enhancements and new features to achieve your stream's business goals.To be considered for this role - Your Key Experience will consist of:Previous experience in a Site Reliability Engineer or similar roleExperience with configuration management such as AnsibleUnderstanding of containerisation concepts such as DockerExperience of global data management (DBA, monitoring, backup, etc.)Solid sysadmin and networks capabilities (TCP/IP, Firewalls etc)Exposure to incident response processes and scenariosEngineering skills using one or more programming languages such as Python, C#, Java etc.Experience running mission-critical services in production is a major plusLinux / UNIX system administration.Use of modern CI/CD tools for delivery and automation such as Azure DevOpsFamiliarity with the latest compute, load balancing and scaling, storage, networking, security and virtualizationtechnologiesExperience mentoring and working closely with more junior colleaguesExperience administering and supporting relational and NoSQL databasesExperience in and knowledge of developing and testing transactional websites, data-driven web publishing, content management systems.Enable continuous improvement of security process and guidelines with Security teamSupport implementation of secure design principles according to policies and standards of Information SecurityThe functional challenges of this role encompass:Working within small multi-disciplined teams/squads to provide constant availability of our services; relied upon by 150,000+ users worldwide.Using software development techniques and experience to diagnose & solve operational (application, architectural & infrastructure) problems.
