Interaction Designer

Location: LondonDuration: 18 MonthsIR35 status: Outside IR35Security clearance: SC Cleared SummaryThe Interaction Designer will lead design a service which will be used by Police Forces on a daily basis to manage national intelligence. The product is currently in alpha development stage. Lead and maintain cohesive design across multiple products for law enforcement officers including management of overall style guide.They will need to work as part of an agile multi disciplinary including other designers.The role will involve prototyping on all levels of fidelity, from paper to use of GDS design toolkit, working with cross-government design community to help define new interaction design patterns. Key skills and experience:Experience of interaction design in cross-functional agile teamsExperience of introducing user-centered design to organizationsHTML/CSS knowledgeExperience of working within government/public sectorPrototyping experienceExperience of leading the design and working autonomously in an agile delivery teamDemonstrable ability to work closely with others, including user researchers, front-end developers and product and delivery leadsPolice domain knowledgeStrong communications and the ability to explain design decisions to others, inside and outside of the delivery teamKnowledge of accessibility good practice and experience of designing accessible interfaces
