Senior Data Analytics Manager

This is an opportunity to lead a new Data function within the Insight & Analytics area of Telegraph Media Group.

The main purpose of this role is to be the Data lead within I&A, working with departments across the business (Technology, Marketing etc.) to ensure data is ready to use for reporting, analysis and activation purposes This is a hands-on, technical role where experience in data management and readiness will be critical to the success.

Key responsabilities include:

Lead data investigations across platforms used by Insight & Analytics, using refined data exploration methodologies and techniques to do so.

Own the relationship between Insight & Analytics and Technology teams to implement changes for business logic, allowing seamless reporting and analytical delivery.

Own the Single Customer View data asset for Insight & Analytics - scoping requirements, building new views & working with Technology on testing.

Own, maintain & develop the business logic of intelligence layers across key datasets (e.g. Adobe Hitlog data).

Lead on designing and developing the data infrastructure for I&A reporting & analysis.

Scope, create and manage new data views to be utilised across Insight & Analytics, ensuring the data are available to be interrogated in a timely manner.

Requirements:

Expert knowledge of data exploration tools and techniques, with a proven track record in delivering data, insight and analysis that demonstrably increase performance

Outstanding SQL skills that will be required on a daily basis to achieve the ambitions required of The Telegraph.

Previous experience of managing a Data/Analytics function - efficiency in managing short & long term projects alongside handling multiple work streams at any given time.

Previous experience of building and shaping teams - managing people (helping them learn, grow and succeed) and demonstrating exceptional leadership qualities to create a high performing team.

A positive and productive attitude that proactively finds solutions to problems, constructively balancing the speed and quality of delivery.

Stand out stakeholder management skills, moving beyond the client/supplier relationship to business partner and helping set successful growth strategies and proactively identify new opportunities.

Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal and analytical skills; the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly across different audiences and varying levels in The Telegraph.

Clear evidence of building collaborative relationships across multiple business divisions to deliver solutions

Experience of working at a Senior Managerial level in a similar insight and analysis team.

Knowledge of, and experience using, Google Cloud Platform (GCP) & Adobe Experience Cloud or an equivalent such as Azure would be an advantage but is not essential.
