Responsible Person, Imports (RPI)I am currently working with an exciting virtual Pharmaceutical company in Surrey (flexible home-working offered) who are looking for a Responsible Person, Imports (RPI) to join the team.Reporting to the Chief Operations Officer, a principal function of the RP/RPi is to safeguard product users against potential hazards arising from poor distribution practices as a result, for example, of purchasing suspect products, poor storage or failure to establish bona fides of purchasers.Specific Duties of the RP/RPi include, but are not limited to;Ensuring that the provisions of the Wholesale Dealer's Authorisation (WDA) are observedEnsuring compliance with the guidelines on Good Distribution Practice (GDP)Ensuring that the operations do not compromise the quality of the medicinesEnsuring that an adequate Quality Management System (QMS) is established, implemented and maintained. The systems, procedures and responsibilities in the QMS are defined with a focus on GDP requirements applicable to the activities of the company.Having oversight of the audit of the QMS and carry out independent audits at a suitable frequency to assure its suitability is current continuouslyEnsuring suppliers and distributors are qualifiedApproving export ordersDeciding on the fate of damaged or tampered goods.Deciding the fate of any quarantined counterfeit, falsified and recalled stock, and notifying the Competent Authorities of any counterfeit or falsified stockInitiating investigations into potential product defectsRequirements:At least two year's relevant practical in performing the functions of a responsible person on a WDA(H). Evidence of performing other functions, for example a quality assurance role for a pharmaceutical manufacturer, may also be considered equivalent.Possess a higher education qualification in pharmacy, chemistry, biology or other relevant life science.Membership of an appropriate professional body (such as RPS, RSC, RSB).A demonstrable understanding of the roles of the competent authorities and other professional bodies and organisations involved in the distribution and supply of medicinal products.An understanding of the principles and guidelines of GDP, and personal knowledge of the relevant provisions of all relevant laws, regulations and provisions concerning medicinal products for human use in territories relevant to the company's productsIf this Responsible Person, Imports (RPI) position in Surrey looks like it could be the next step in your Pharmaceuticals career, please get in touch ASAP!
