Senior CAD Design Engineer Remote working (3 days a week in Bristol office) £40000 + Pension + Holiday Excellent opportunity for an experienced CAD designer to join an ambitious renewable energy company that will offer you a varied, autonomous and technically interesting role where you can work from home remotely 2-3 days a week. This company specialise in the design and manufacture of high-tech renewable energy equipment that is supplied across the world. They are looking for a highly skilled electrical engineer, design engineer or controls engineer to be working out of the Central Bristol office (next to temple meads) 3 days a week with the remaining time you can work remotely. Based in the new Bristol office the Senior CAD design engineer will be tasked with maintaining the CAD system, FEA system, design procedures and design standards. Support Systems Engineering and Project Engineering teams with CAD model interrogation and visualisation. Maintain a comprehensive Bill of Materials that is integrated with procurement and mentor junior staff. The ideal candidate will have 10 years' experience in a design office background where you have built up a strong knowledge of various 3D CAD systems, have an intertest in building a career in renewable energy and come from an engineering background. This is a great opportunity for a Senior CAD design engineer or Design manager from a design office background to join an ambitious renewable energy company where you will play a key role in their growth and development. The role: *Maintain the CAD system, FEA system, design procedures and design standards.*Manage and support the CAD Technicians in the team, providing training and development as required.*CAD modelling of all components and the assembled system during an iterative design process*Support Systems Engineering and Project Engineering teams with CAD model interrogation and visualisation.*Produce detailed manufacturing drawings.*Maintain a comprehensive Bill of Materials that is integrated with procurement. The person: *HND or equivalent qualification in a technical discipline.*Extensive experience in CAD modelling for engineering projects with many interfaces and numerous design changes/iterations.*Good knowledge of CAD systems and management procedures for an agile and innovative engineering team.*Familiarity with engineering interface and change management procedures.*Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality systems.
