Job Title: IT Support TechnicianLocation: BasildonSalary: £24,907 - £30,615 per annum, dependent on experienceJob type: Full time, Fixed Term Contract (6 Months)The company is a joint venture between a number of local NHS Trusts and a private sector partner. They deliver full laboratory services to a population of 750,000 patients and over 100 GP practices in the South East.While you'll be working at the joint venture you'll be employed by the private sector partner; who are a wholly-owned subsidiary of a much larger multinational company. They're the European leader in delivery of high quality pathology testing and imaging services and operate in 30 countries across four continents, carrying out about 450 million tests per annum.The RoleThey're seeking a dynamic and talented IT Support Technician to join our IT Team on 6-month FTC. The successful candidate would be expected to provide help desk service, based on ITIL standards across the UK businesses within the Group.You will be acting as first line support in the following areas: the laboratory management system; the O365 infrastructure across the company; to support remotely the IT infrastructure, LIMS and telephony infrastructure.Duties will include:To provide quality technical maintenance and support of all user-based IT hardware and software focusing on customer care and satisfactionTo provide end user support for all onsite devices and network, talking staff or clients through a series of actions, either face-to-face or over the telephone, to help set up systems or resolve issuesTo provide support to standard and authorised non-standard software applications.Take the lead with the resolution of IT Help Desk generated IncidentsTo manage helpdesk tickets through full cycle of triage, referral to tier 2 and tier 3 resources to full closure within the boundaries of the Service Level Agreements in placeTo perform installation and configuration of hardware operating systems, software and applications ensuring it is installed to existing IT standards and within any predetermined timescalesTo provide supporting documentation for the departmental operational procedures and knowledge base items as appropriateTroubleshoot the system and network problems and diagnosing and solving hardware or software faultsParticipate in Departmental reviews and audits, ensuring highest possible standards of work. Make changes in own practice and offer suggestions for improving servicesAdhere to the approved Standard Operating Procedures used in the Department and within the organisationThe Candidate:At least 2 years previous IT Service Desk experience with demonstrable evidence within a diverse range of environmentsSignificant experience of Microsoft Windows (both Desktop & Server) Operating Systems supportAble to provide Microsoft Office 365 support at intermediate levelExperienced in Virtualisation Technologies (knowledge and support of Citrix)WAN & LAN Network knowledge including monitoring and troubleshootingDegree/HND level computing qualification or equivalent proven knowledge in IT & technology fieldsAble to work under pressure, demonstrating autonomous working and sound professional judgementTeam player with good communication skills, cheerful and diplomatic.
