My telecomms client is looking for a Digital Sales Director for an initial 6 month contract with the potential to extend.

Why this Job matters

Enterprise is about to accelerate its push into Digital Sales. Out track record here is limited and we need to drive a radical transformation, resulting in 50% of our SME transactions able to be delivered fully digitally at end state. This role will be key to that transformation, and the role holder will need to have absolute, unwavering passion and commitment to deliver on this agenda and secure Enterprise SME's future and credibility in this rapidly changing market place. The Digital Sales Director will establish this sales channel within SME - setting the strategy, demanding brilliant sales performance, and driving the prioritisation of requirements across Enterprise, for the channel to maximise growth opportunities. This role will also create and embed a cultural shift - both within our organisation and with our customers - to facilitate the shift to digital that will enable us to deliver our bold growth plans.

Accountabilities:

*Set the Digital Sales channel strategy for Enterprise - set a bold vision to deliver digital sales transformation, overcoming potential conflict with our more traditional channels

*Gain buy-in from Enterprise CEO - this will become one of Enterprise's most transformational sales programmes, enabling significant cost saving as well as accessing revenue streams that have been closed to us.

*Own the P&L for Digital Sales - working closely with Commercial and Finance, establish Digital as a new, separate sales channel (MTP, pay plan, targets), and drive brilliant sales performance (volume, channel share and shift to digital, journey C-Sat, automation %)

*Define requirements & priorities for digital sales channel success - one aligned plan across Enterprise. For example: -

oDecide priorities for marketing campaigns and segment targeting for the digital channel - working closely with Enterprise Marketing, to define requirements and priorities within the pipeline for the channel

oDefine and prioritise E2E digital journey requirements and improvements - working closely with Product, Propositions, and Customer Service, to define requirements for new & in life-enhancements.

*Drive internal (culture & behaviour, incentivisation, capability, organisation) and external (customer behaviour and awareness) change that facilitates digital shift

Required Skills:

*Excellent collaborator and influencer: has a track record of building strong relationships in a matrix / functional team environment; can engage, inspire and influence people at all levels, establishing common interest in shared outcomes and removing barriers to collaboration.

*Commercial and business acumen: Knowledgeable in business strategy and the drivers of organisational performance, including people drivers of performance and financial literacy (e.g. business KPIs, business cases)

*Takes action based on analysis of trends; including changing customer demand/buying decisions or opportunities to enhance sales performance; develop plans using a combination of experience and sound technical expertise - able to make excellent judgement calls in the absence of direction, this role will set the direction.

*Remains current and curious about industry trends; including emerging technology, market conditions, industry standards, government regulations, and other factors affecting business operations and incorporates relevant innovation into solutions for customers

*Begin and ends with the customer - personally role models that customers are the reason why we have a business; places the achievement of excellent customer solutions at the heart of the organisation

*People leadership - track record of motivating a large, and sometimes matrix/virtual, multi-disciplinary team to achieve brilliant outcomes.

Experience needed:

*Broad skills in Digital

*Have overseen running an online business in a B2B market - ideally, have played a critical role in a Digital Sales with significant size (£0.2 - 0.5bn revenue)

*Proven industry experience achieving rapid growth from a low base

*Able to lead transformational change programmes in large, functional organisations - transforming both business outcomes and customer behaviour

*Business influencer, working cross functionally across business, operational and technical teams
