£55k - £65k base + on-call allowance (£500 p/w) and lots of OT

Our client is a global financial services organisation, and a vacancy has arisen for an experienced IT professional to work as a SQL Server DBA in a team of 5 supporting 3500 SQL Server instances. Everyone in the team carries out a mix of project work and BAU. There is a push to automate at this time.

Key skills / environment:

-SQL Server (all versions)

-Management and support of large-scale database environments.

-Database administration / DBA function

-Hands-on SQL Server database support / database administration ability

-Microsoft Windows

-Oracle Database

-Clustering Technologies

-Monitoring and management tools (SCOM, SCCM)

-Virtualisation / VMWare

-Powershell scripting

Experience in large scale environments and infrastructure projects is very desirable.

This role is work from home. Post Covid ideally 1 or 2 days per week at either Southampton, London or Newcastle.

Base salary in the range of £55k - £65k with an on-call payment (£500 per week, 1 week in 5) and currently lots of overtime.

Appropriate candidates may have held the following roles: Senior DBA, Database Engineer, Database Administrator, Database Specialist, Database Support Analyst, SQL Server SME, SQL Server Analyst, Database Analyst
