Helping to get the greatest value from change Working with a highly supportive, friendly, and collaborative team, we are looking for a Business Architect to play a key role in helping us to get the greatest value from change and reaching beyond organisational boundaries. We are part of the wider enterprise architecture team, based in Technology and due to the recent re-assignment of a team member, we have a 12-month fixed term opportunity in Business Architecture & Strategy team. Our team's work requires a good understanding of the strategic priorities and drivers of change to realise our future-state business capabilities, and product and service architectures to provide outcomes for learners, teachers, and customers.  What you'll be doing Using Business Architecture and other visuals, models, maps and frameworks, you will enable good decision-making about business and enterprise change, building and enhancing the business architecture models and longer-term roadmaps. Applying your current knowledge about digital change, emerging technology, education, learning and assessment industry trends, you'll identify synergies and help shape the investment portfolio and change roadmaps to optimise value. A trusted partner you will support the business in the strategic planning process, by providing input to the scope definition of strategic initiatives leveraging capabilities, creating models to provide visibility to impacts, dependencies, overlaps and opportunities. Your key deliverables will include capability mapping, customer journey mapping and value streams, and you will work closely with enterprise, data and solution/technical architects to deliver business architecture artefacts. An effective communicator, you will present recommendations and solutions clearly and concisely, and be able to focus on key points to portray the intended message or purpose.  You'll advocate "best practices" to ensure consistency of business architecture outputs across the enterprise, as well as taking an active role in enterprise portfolio investment strategies by assessing and rationalising proposed enterprise capabilities. With the ability to think strategically to define practical solutions that align with corporate strategy, you will effectively manage priorities, deliverables, and timelines with little need for escalation.  You will already have some experience and abilities in modelling and analysis to help colleagues from a wide range of disciplines understand other perspectives, to optimise decision-making, as well as experience instigating, designing and delivering workshops, visuals and analyses, to deliver clear impact, options and longer-term scenario plans. What we're looking for Relevant skills and experience are more important than specific qualifications, however, any of the below are desirable. Undergraduate degree, Masters or postgraduate qualification, Business Architecture qualification, Agile, product management, digital and CX training, Industry-recognised business analysis qualifications or Industry-recognised project, programme management qualifications. Your ability to communicate using excellent visual ‘technical' artefacts as well as to translate these into ‘lay' documentation, easily understood by non-architects, is key. Desirable skillsets are: Documenting, diagramming, workshop design and delivery.  Strategic analysis, e.g. scenarios, investment cases, benefits analysis, etc.  Facilitation, presentation and public speaking.  Stakeholder management and influencing skills. Commercial, business and industry savvy. Change management.
