Job Title: LIMS and IT Support TechnicianLocation: BasildonSalary: £31,365 - £ 37,890 per annum, dependent on experienceJob type: Permanent, Full timeThe company is a joint venture between a number of local NHS Trusts and a private sector partner. They deliver full laboratory services to a population of 750,000 patients and over 100 GP practices in the South East.While you'll be working at the joint venture you'll be employed by the private sector partner; who are a wholly-owned subsidiary of a much larger multinational company. They're the European leader in delivery of high quality pathology testing and imaging services and operate in 30 countries across four continents, carrying out about 450 million tests per annum.The RoleThe company are seeking a dynamic and talented LIMS and IT Support Technician to be part of their IT Team. You'll need experience in providing expert knowledge and advice on all pathology IT systems to both laboratory staff and laboratory customers/clinicians and help with the Maintenance and development of IT systems; including interfacing and connectivity to various laboratory systems both internally and externally.The LIMS and Support Technician is to take the lead in resolving IT help desk generated incidents and ensure the LIMS systems are maintained in accordance with ISO15189:2012 standards and other regulatory accreditation standards.Duties will include:Assist in System Administration for the laboratory information system (LIMS) and InterfacesTo provide quality technical maintenance and support of all user-based IT hardware and softwareTo provide end user support for all onsite devices and network, talking staff or clients through a series of actions, either face-to-face or over the telephone, to help set up systems or resolve issuesTo provide support to standard and authorised non-standard software applicationsTo manage helpdesk tickets through full cycle of triage, referral to tier 2 and tier 3 resources to full closure within the boundaries of the Service Level Agreements in placeTo perform installation and configuration of hardware operating systems, software and applications ensuring it is installed to existing IT standards and within any predetermined timescalesTo provide supporting documentation for the departmental operational procedures and knowledge base items as appropriateProvide verbal and written reports through immediate line manager identifying progress in relation to complex IT Incidents, issues or implicationsLiaise with other local support and/or development teams and/or suppliers obtaining advice and/or providing solutions on IT technical issuesTroubleshoot system and network problems and diagnosing and solving hardware or software faultsThe Candidate:Significant experience of pathology IT systems, especially LIMSExperience of having worked with key healthcare systems, including PAS and EPRExperience of working with external service providersAble to work proactively and plan, organise and manage own workloadStrong communication skills and able to deal professionally with people at all levelsMust be flexible in approach to the work as priorities changeSignificant experience of working with health data, information governance hence having a clear understanding of the obligations and responsibilities of confidentialityExperience and familiarity with cyber security controlsPlease click on the APPLY button to send your CV and Cover Letter for this role.Candidates with the relevant experience or job titles of; IT Analyst, IT Technician, IT Service Desk Technician, Desktop Support, IT Support Engineer, Technical Support, IT Support, Helpdesk Support, Fault Desk, IT Systems Engineer, IT Systems Support, 2nd Line Support Engineer may also be considered for this role.
