Job Introduction

This year we've seen the biggest change to the way we work for as long as many of us can remember.  We must be prepared to quickly respond and adapt to disruptions, to ensure that we can continue to support the services we provide for our customers, when the unexpected happens.  We're looking for professionals who are ready for a new challenge to join our Operational Resilience team.  You will support the delivery of Operational Resilience and Operational Continuity in Resolution (OCIR) activities, leading on specific initiatives to support the Operational Resilience Leader and senior stakeholders. You'll be passionate about wanting a role that will provide you with the opportunity to work on a broad and varied customer-focused work programme, supporting us in implementing, enhancing and embedding Operational Resilience across the Society.   

Main Responsibilities

Ability to interpret, understand and communicate Operational Resilience and OCIR regulatory policy in a timely manner.  Support the development of the Operational Resilience Framework and policies, designed to meet regulatory expectations and the Society's needs. Undertake and/or lead activities, working with key stakeholders from across the Society to support delivery of our Operational Resilience work plan to include Important Busi ness Services & Critical Processes, Maximum Impact Tolerances, Service Mapping, and Stress Testing. Work alongside key business stakeholders supporting the capture of information and service mapping for our critical processes to include dependencies on technology, suppliers, people, information and facilities. Support for the development and maintenance of the Operational Resilience self-assessment to be made available for our Board and regulators upon request.  Preparation of quality papers for governance groups as required, relevant to subject matter and with strategic alignment and a risk / reward focus Support the process for ensuring Operational Resilience metrics for each Important Business Service are identified, meaningful, collated, monitored and reported upon to Board Level. Work with our Supplier Relationship Management team and business stakeholders to ensure that Operational Resilience and OCIR considerations in our supply chain are properly identified and managed.  Coordination and leadership of the Work Area Recovery site tests to ensure that we can continue to operate critical processes from an alternative site. Support for Business Continuity activities as required, including scenario tests and planning, implementation and review of BCP activities when invoked in test or a real scenario

Ideal Candidate

You will have Financial Services resilience or risk experience or Operational Resilience knowledge from another industry that you can apply to the Society.

Proven ability to create and maintain effective working relationships with business stakeholders, working in partnership.

You will be able to analyse and interpret wide-ranging business information and be able to demonstrate an understanding of business strategy, key business processes and their link to Operational Resilience.

Proven ability in identifying and documenting risks and t he design and/ or recommendation of appropriate management controls.

Knowledge of tools and techniques and practice for managing Operational Resilience/OCIR in a Financial Services organisation, including a working knowledge of the relevant regulation and publications.

You will own and actively manage your own development.
