Job Title: Data Base Administrator (Synapse/Oracle) Job Purpose and primary objectives: We are looking for a passionate, creative, self-motivated Data Base Administrator who will liaison with customer business and technology stakeholders, Technology and Software engineering leads and data scientists to build the most optimized Database on Synapse. He needs to help optimize the SQLs developed by the Technical teams and Data Scientists. Key responsibilities Key accountabilities and measures · Liaise with software engineering leads and data scientists to come up with the best optimized database model on Synapse. · Implement performance tuning on systems databases, tables, functions, stored procedures, SQL agent jobs? · Fine tune the SQLs prepared by the Technical team and Data Scientist team to improve performance · Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills, an ability to use various data collection tools and methodologies to analyse problems, determine root cause and develop solutions · Troubleshoot systems issues in a cross-functional team with variety of backgrounds to develop solutions · Work in a cross-functional team with variety of backgrounds to develop a solution that maintain best practices · Maintain data standards, including adherence to the Data Protection Act · Participate data governance team to develop standardizations that promote security, integrity, and confidentiality Key Skills/Knowledge:    Experienced in Synapse, ADLS and Oracle (secondary) · Expert in SQL Tuning · Azure managed instances, Azure SQL Data Warehouse etc. · Familiarity with storage blobs (S3, or Azure Blob Storage, Azure data lake store) · Indexing and query performances tuning · Database storage optimization · Database design and ER familiarity Location: London
