Do you want to retain hands-on and bridge the gap between technical and finance?
Are you able to build positive, collaborative and rewarding relationships at all levels?
An exciting opportunity for a SAP FICO Specialist to join our expert team within the SAP Centre of Excellence.
A key and integral part of the SAP team, you will identify and drive forward business and system process improvements and perform configuration changes within the SAP Finance and Controlling modules.
Able to hit the ground running and contribute to the smooth and efficient running of our financial processes, you'll deliver, maintain and enhance the SAP functionality, whilst managing multiple deliveries simultaneously.
This is a unique opportunity to retain hands-on configuration skills whilst engaging with colleagues at all levels as your work enables us to make a real difference to learners worldwide.
Whilst many of us are based at home at this time, there is the expectation for the successful applicant, when restrictions allow to have a presence in our Cambridge office, only a 10-minute walk from the train station.
Understanding issues and building solutions
With excellent consultation skills, you'll participate in business requirements gathering and solution design workshops to deliver change requests and improvement initiatives. Your main stakeholders will be in the Finance team, and you'll build key relationships in order to evaluate and analyse requirements.
A trusted expert
In your bag of skills will be the ability to create and maintain documentation such as functional specifications, test cases, knowledge transfer and business process flows, to name a few, as you coordinate changes all the way through to production.
As our FICO SAP module expert, you'll also understand the dependencies and integration points between other modules of SAP and other systems within the IT landscape, piecing it all together.
Breadth and reach beyond IT
Collaboration is key here at Cambridge Assessment and you will regularly be required to collaborate and share knowledge with various business and technical teams ensuring the integrity, future design and quality of the SAP solution and its interfaces.
You'll perform break/fix analysis and recommend solutions and work with the support team to facilitate incident & problem resolution. In addition, you'll get involved in ad-hoc support for regression testing, system refresh, patching and upgrades, proactively contributing to improving internal IT processes and the continued success of the IT organisation.
What we're looking for
A background in finance would be amazing, either with a finance degree, or a CIMA/ACA/ACCA - but equally if you have demonstrable work experience to offer we'd be interested in hearing from you.
With extensive hands-on configuration experience in FICO functional role, including new GL, AA, AP, AR, FSCM, Cash & Bank, PS, PCA, CCA and COPA, you'll have a solid understanding of integration points between SD, MM, SRM and BW. You'll also have an understanding of integration technologies, interfaces and other technical areas (user exits, ABAP, forms, LSMW, PI, EDI). Not essential, but nice if you have it would be BPC-EPM planning and SAP 4/HANA insight.
With exposure to Agile and Waterfall, you'll ideally have experience of at least two full lifecycle SAP implementations. You'll be there to bridge the gap between technical and business concepts making reliable recommendations. With strong understanding of financial and cost accounting principles you'll have demonstrable IT skills with excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities. A natural team player, you'll also be able to take ownership and set realistic expectations to a deliver customer centric solutions and process improvement initiatives.
