JOB SUMMARYResponsibilities:Report daily to the production supervisor with relevant updatesTake leadership of the moulding technicians and delegate work in the absence of the Production SupervisorTake ownership of the production facilities in the absence of the production supervisor, maintain all HSE, housekeeping and technical requirements to keep all production on schedule to the required level of qualityDevelop and monitor technician competencies across the department and support with training as requiredSupport technically with process and tooling issuesResponsible for maintaining all tooling and machinery both internally and through 3rd party servicesSupport transition from tool trials to full production including process settings, procedures and trainingEnsure that all production facility equipment and facilities are correctly set-up, certified, calibrated, used, maintained, and decommissioned as per the relevant standards and policiesCommunicate daily with Planning function to prioritise and co-ordinate multiple manufacture programmes appropriatelyEnsure a high standard of 6S housekeeping is maintained throughout the production facilitiesPropose and implement process improvement, HSE and Lean waste-reduction initiativesLead the troubleshooting of any issues, involving Technicians and Engineers as appropriateSchedules may require overtime working and/or regularly working different shifts ROLE QUALIFICATIONSExtensive knowledge of PEEK injection moulding is imperativeCommitment to Safety and qualityCommitment to the goal of a world-class production facilityWilling to take responsibility and be accountable for the moulding facility and its staff in the absence of the production supervisorStrong team-orientation and willingness to collaborate within the team and cross-functionallyAbility to work independently with minimal supervision when requiredConsistently professional, particularly in the presence of clients and test witnessesPreferably qualified to HND level in a relevant discipline or demonstrable equivalent skills/experienceProven ability to effectively mentor and instruct other TechniciansKnowledge of complex injection moulding techniques, best practices and applicable industry standardsKnowledge of complex compression moulding techniques, best practices and applicable industry standardsAbility to understand technical instructions, materials and mechanical drawingsAbility to generate technical instructions and develop moulding parameters for complex polymeric and elastomeric componentsCommercial awareness and a focus on ensuring project milestones are metExcellent organisational and planning skillsArticulate with strong communication and interpersonal skills
