Overview

We are looking for a SQL Developer to join our team of in-house developers to lead the development of the database side of our technology stack. Working on Microsoft SQL 2019 you would be developing and tuning SQL for our website. Additionally, you would take responsibility for the day to day running of the database and be influential in changes to the database structure and processes. While there are some DBA duties, these comprise of approximately 1/4 of the duties - with the rest taken up with SQL development, testing/reviewing work and liaising with customers and trialists about our data feeds. This could be a step up for an aspiring developer, or for a more experienced developer who has DBA skills already looking for a new challenge. Our ICT team are primarily based in our Dartford, Kent office but working from our Heathfield, East Sussex is an option. The successful candidate would be initially working from home and training will be remote.

It is a busy environment where requirements change daily, and we would be looking for someone who is excited by the fast pace. Problem solving is a key attribute along with the confidence to ask questions when required but also able to take the initiative on projects. Attention to detail is key, and we would be looking for someone with a keen eye to ensure the data collected by our analysts is represented correctly on the website. Communication is also important in the role, where you will be expected to work with some of our top clients to ensure that they are setup quickly and guided through basic onboarding procedures.

On top of your salary, we offer our staff health insurance, pension contributions and social activities throughout the year (once things settle down!).

Please submit a covering letter with your CV, explaining why you think you would be the ideal candidate for the role. Our recruitment process starts with a technical test based on SQL with candidates being invited to interview via Teams should they be successful.
