Technical Trainer

This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing business that delivers IT services to the UK's Defence and Security sectors and to other government departments which have complex and demanding security requirements.

This position will play a key role in the support of the Company's internal and customer related training requirements. This will include the capturing of training requirements, the preparation of training material, the delivery of the training and the production of supporting material including User Guides. The role will require a thorough understanding of the technologies we provide as part of our Managed Services and an ability to deliver the training in a language targeted at the technical and experience level of the trainees. This job role will be based at the Company's premises in Stoke-on-Trent and delivered to a variety of geographically dispersed Customer sites.

Responsibilities:

Training Needs Analysis:

Carry out Training Needs Analysis workshops to identify:The training audience and stakeholdersThe roles associated with the subject of the trainingThe training gap analysisDraft training objectivesTraining options

Training Design and Development:

Produce a Learning Specification for each course module detailing Training Objectives, Enabling Objectives and Key Learning PointsProduce Lesson PlansDevelop training exercises

Produce training content including presentations, handouts and other training material

Training Delivery:Set up training environments at company premises and on Customer sitesDeliver training to internal personnel and to CustomersCarry out post training delivery assessment to ensure continual improvement

User / Support Documentation:Produce User Guides and ManualsProduce Maintenance Guides

QualificationsLevel 3 Certificate in Education and Training or equivalentITIL v3/v4 Foundation Certification

Skills, Qualities and ExperienceExperience of sourcing high quality training solutions for internal teams - technical and non-technicalUnderstanding of the types of technologies used within our product set. This should include an understanding of how various technologies are employed for the following:Technical collaboration solutionsServer and network infrastructureUnified communications toolsHigh security environments and technical solutions delivered into those environmentsExperience of delivering training in MOD/ Military environments would be beneficialExperience of delivering technical training in commercial/ non-military environment would be beneficialAbility to establish and develop a new role within the organisationAttention to detail and used to working to high levels of qualityA high level of written and verbal communication skillsConfidence when interacting with Customer personnel at all levelsConfidence when interacting with skilled technical personnelAbility to ably represent the Company when working at Customer sitesA commitment to continually develop technical and training delivery skillsInitiative and proactiveness, matched by an ability to be a strong member of a teamWillingness to work flexibly in response to changing organisational requirementsHave or be able to obtain the appropriate security clearance
