We are searching for an experienced Architectural Technologist for a leading practice who are expanding their South Devon and Cornwall based team.The role can be based from offices located in Plymouth or Cornwall (close to the south coast of Cornwall).This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a forward-thinking company and team, across a wide range of sectors, including, commercial development, education, residential, social housing, industrial, retail, heritage, conservation, leisure and defence.To be considered for this role you will require the following experience and qualifications;You will ideally be Chartered by the Institute of Architectural Technologists (CIAT) or you will be in the process of becoming Chartered (our client is also interested in speaking with experienced candidates who are not Chartered and will support you in becoming Chartered, if you have the commercial experience and drive, they are looking for). You need to have very strong abilities in the use of commercial drafting software and building information modelling software, including AutoCAD and Revit. (A proficiency test will be conducted as part of the selection process in the above).Experience using Sketchup and Photoshop is desired but is NOT essential.You require excellent technical design skills.You will have experience of detailing complex buildings and ability to produce comprehensive working drawing packages.You will be able to demonstrate an ability to run projects across technical work stages.You will be working on UK developments and therefore require a good knowledge and understanding of the Building Regulations.You MUST hold a full UK drivers licence.

Key DutiesOn a day-to-day basis you will be working alongside Architects, Technologists, Technicians, Architectural Assistants, Interior Designers, Town Planners and Urban Designers - the role will be focused on the following;Preparing and coordinating design, production and construction package information.Knowledge of Revit, AutoCAD, NBS and BIM360 is desirable.Good working knowledge of construction methods and Building Regulations.Liaison with internal and external consultants in the production of specialist design information.Liaison with planning & building control authorities.Input into pre-construction information.Review and update design risk assessments on a regular basis.Ability to work well under pressure and hit deadlines.Able to take the initiative to solve technical issues.Keen to work in a team environment, but also happy to work independently.Dynamic, flexible, able to work under pressure to tight deadlines, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.Travel will be expected to be undertaken across the region to fulfil the requirements of the role and the diverse range of work - you MUST therefore hold a full UK drivers' licence.
