Business Intelligence Developer

Would you like be a key member of a high performing team ensuring our Business Intelligence & Analytics Competency Centre (BIACC) outputs are delivered with a keen focus on customer satisfaction? Developing leading edge business intelligent solutions or solving complex business challenges through insight will form the basis of your work? We currently have a vacancy for a Lead Developer at our site in Warton.

As a Business Intelligence Developer, you will be working closely with stakeholders at all levels within the business to understand their requirements, then to design and deliver Business Intelligence & Analytical solutions that provide meaningful outputs to the business.

Your main responsibilities as a Business Intelligence Developer will involve:

Lead a small team of skilled developers to deliver projects within an agile framework, carry out resource and sprint planning and reporting team progress

Benchmarking and reviewing improved ways of working - continually seeking opportunities for productivity improvement, quality improvement and cost reduction

Working closely with stakeholders at all levels within the business to understand their requirements, then to design and deliver Business Intelligence & Analytical solutions that provide meaningful outputs to the business.

Experience in multi-dimensional (cube based) and relational reporting.

Proficient in the support of code standards, best practice, configuration and change management processes and procedures, as well as in the ability to operate in an iterative development environment.

Investigating and responding to incidents in a timely and responsive manner and delivering against service level agreements within the context of the ITIL Framework

Your skills and qualifications:

Essential:

Coordination and delivery of IT activities/projects aligning to Agile methodology

Experience of modelling datasets, developing Business Intelligence reports, ITIL framework

Knowledge of ETL Technologies such as Data Virtualisation, SSIS, Warehousing, vaults

An understanding of IT systems and the principles and approaches that influence their performance

Use of advanced analysis and diagnostic techniques to get to root cause of issues and resolve

Desirable:

Experience with the following; SQL,TSQL, a BI toolset which ideally would include Cognos, Tableau or SSRS, SSAS

You will be customer focussed, have a 'can do' attitude and be able to create technical designs from business requirements. You will have a technical background together with the ability to understand technical instructions and communicate these onto others. You will be confident working within the team with the minimum of supervision and have responsibility for the quality and timely completion of your own work.
