VDI Support Engineer

Start: April 2021

Duration: 6 month contract

Location: Full-time on-site in Mons (BE) with some travel to Waterloo.

Clearance: SC or NATO Secret required

Project:

We will be designing & implementing a fault tolerant powered VMware Horizon virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) solution.

We are looking for 1 profile to operate & support the new VDI environment, onsite in Mons (with some visits to Waterloo, south of Brussels).

This resource must hold a valid NATO secret clearance.

Job description:

* Perform troubleshooting and operational support on the new VDI environment based on VMWare Horizon

* Resolve incidents that are classified as related to the VDI environment

* Identify and resolve underlying problems that relates to the VDI environment

* Administrate the VDI environment (incl. user access management)

* Monitor the VDI environment and resolve alerts

* Apply security patches and mandatory updates on the VMware components of the VDI environment

* Apply firmware updates to the underlying hardware platforms (upto twice a year)

* Apply security patches and mandatory updates on the virtual desktops running on the VDI environment

* Participate in relevant meetings regarding the support of the VDI environment

Due to the nature and urgency of this post, candidates holding or who have held high level security clearance in the past are most welcome to apply. Please note successful applicants will be required to be security cleared prior to appointment which can take up to a minimum 10 weeks.
