Do you have a thorough understanding of databases and database structures, lots of initiative and great problem solving skills? Are you looking for a challenging role in an environment that's open, vibrant and welcomes new ideas? Then join the University of East London as Systems Manager within our HR team.

It's a particularly exciting time here at the University as, under our new 10-year strategy, Vision 2028, we're committed to providing students with the skills necessary to thrive in an ever-changing world. Our Human Resources team plays its part by helping our people to deliver that strategy. We also provide services that range from recruitment and selection to induction, training and development, health, safety and wellbeing, performance management, pay, benefits and pensions, employee relations, staff engagement and organisational change.

Your challenge as Systems Manager will be to develop, implement, maintain and support the University's HR systems in order to enable our operations team to work efficiently. You'll also be responsible for providing timely and relevant management information to managers and employees across the organisation and leading our Reward function to ensure our job evaluation scheme is applied consistently and fairly across all roles. Providing benchmark data to inform management pay decisions and the appropriate application of market supplements will be important too.,  And, when it comes to applying Lean methodology to improve our business processes and integrate changes with new or existing systems, again, we'll count on you to deliver.

To succeed, you'll need excellent Excel skills, including Functions and Pivot tables, plus experience of using power BI, Business Objects, or similar. Knowledge of HR systems and/or an understanding of higher education would be useful too, as would familiarity with reward, compensation and benefits and grading structures, however these are not essential attributes. What's vital is the ability to work across university departments and build effective working relationships with key contacts and experience of effectively exploring managers requirements, including clarifying their desired outcomes. Adept at presenting information clearly and accessibly, your proven project management experience includes scoping out requirements using feedback from stakeholders, developing relevant documentation and embedding change, sometimes to tight timeframes.

So, if you have what we are looking for and are keen to further develop your career in systems management, get in touch.

At the University of East London, we aim to attract and retain the best possible staff and offer a working environment at the heart of a dynamic region with excellent transport links. You can look forward to a warm, sincere welcome, genuine camaraderie and mobility in an institution led with passion, visibility and purpose. Your impact, resilience and sense of collegiality will directly contribute to the University's future and those of the students whose lives you will touch and change forever. We also offer a great range of benefits including pension, family friendly policies and an on-site nursery and gym at our Docklands Campus.
