My client is looking for a DevOps Lead/Platform Engineer with extensive cloud experience (ideally in GCP but AWS and Azure considered) to lead a team of platform engineers in what is a really exciting time for the firm. This is a new position in a fast growing company that saw massive growth in what was generally a tough year for the economy in 2020. Responsibilities:Lead an experienced team of Platform Engineers, working with them on their personal development and growthCoordinate resourcing with other areas of the services businessWork with senior management on the internal technology roadmapWork with customers and Pre-sales to translate requirements into technical solutionsDesign highly available, global and Cloud native platformsAdvise customers on modern software and architecture techniques such as 12 factor, microservices and serverlessDevelop internal tooling for the wider Platform Team Skills and Experience: Extensive hands-on experience with at least one major cloud provider (GCP, AWS, Azure)At least five years experience in a cloud focussed delivery role (DevOps or Software Development)Previous experience in a consultancy or professional services role would be beneficialGood customer facing skills are essentialAbility to write tooling in at least one programming languageA thorough understanding of Terraform and deployment methodologies associated with the toolSolid knowledge of cloud architecture principles and highly available systemsUnderstanding of application development, delivery and infrastructure automationCommercial Kubernetes operational experienceKnowledge of some of the following: Containerisation technologies (e.g. Docker)Configuration management tooling (e.g. Puppet, Chef, Ansible, Salt)Excellent understanding of the Linux operating system (e.g. Debian, CentOS)Continuous integration and deployment tool sets (e.g. Jenkins, ArgoCD, GoCD)Common DevOps technology stacks (e.g. ELK, NGINX, Apache, RabbitMQ, Elasticsearch, Redis, Consul)Site Reliability Engineering Desirable Skills:GCP/AWS professional certificationsCertified Kubernetes AdministratorRed Hat Certified Architect (RHCA) Remote working, competitive salary, Private Healthcare, unlimited holiday!, Discounted Gym membership, Childcare vouchers, pension, wellbeing allowance and more! ***Please apply with your latest CV for immediate consideration***
