Digital Forensics and Intelligence Services (DFIS), using their technical expertise to the investigation, collation, eDiscovery processing and analysis of digital material, play a key role in supporting the work done by the CMA in their aim to make markets work well for consumers, businesses and the economy. With the increasing digitalisation of markets, the importance of the DFIS team continues to grow. Through combined project teams, we are building a cutting-edge eDiscovery capability for the CMA that combines both commercial and in-house technologies. This presents exciting and career defining opportunities for eDiscovery professionals, including technical and investigative roles.

Senior eDiscovery Technical Officers will have a critical role in helping the CMA to exploit our eDiscovery tools more effectively and Senior eDiscovery Officers will undertake a variety eDiscovery tasks in the collection, processing and analysis of electronic evidence. Both roles will work collaboratively to deliver training and support for our case teams in our eDiscovery tools and processes, as well as having leadership responsibilities in managing, coaching and guiding less experienced Digital Forensics Officers, overseeing the day-to-day delivery of their work and contributions to the wider team.

The CMA is the UK's world-leading government body established to make sure competition works in consumers' favour, and businesses treat their customers fairly. Be it taking enforcement action against drug firms accused of over-charging the NHS, investigating online ticket resale platforms over concerns they don't give customers all the information they should, or carrying out a major study into the care homes industry, what we do really matters and makes a difference to people's lives.

To be considered for either of our Senior eDiscovery Officer roles you will need to evidence in your application:

Practical eDiscovery experience, for example, in a law firm, consultancy, eDiscovery services provider (private firms), Government organisations or the Police.

Experience of internal and external stakeholder engagement (written or verbal) to provide a high-quality service to meet task and project deadlines.

Demonstrable experience in the use eDiscovery tools, preferably the Nuix suite (Workstation, Investigate, Discover).

Experience of developing standards and policies for eDiscovery processes and delivering training.

Experience of developing scripts (SQL or Python) for manipulating load files, analysis and reporting.

Experience of line and/or work management responsibilities within a team delivering eDiscovery casework.

In return the CMA is a hugely rewarding, diverse and stimulating place to work - an opportunity to work for the public good and to stretch and develop yourself in doing so. All CMA staff enjoy generous benefits, including an excellent pension scheme, at least 25 days leave (increasing to 30 over five years), and generous maternity/paternity leave provision. You can also take advantage of interest-free season ticket loans, a cycle to work scheme, childcare vouchers, and favourable consideration of flexible working.

The CMA may require you to work from home to continue delivering our objectives during the COVID-19 pandemic period. Any remote or home working arrangement is temporary only and does not constitute a permanent change to your designated place of work or working conditions.
