AWS, Java & Microservices Developer with Banking /Finance Experience Our development team is building a green field application using all the latest technologies. The team is building a brand-new micro services-based e-trading platform. We need a senior java developer who has worked on applications which have used AWS PaaS and SaaS services. This is an opportunity for an enthusiastic software engineer to join the development team as a senior level developer working on our Execution Management System. S/he will be responsible for a spectrum of assignments from working on new products, system and product enhancements, and systems architecture to bug fixes. We are seeking skilled technologists who have strong technical skills as well as the leadership characteristics required to guide others from a technical perspective. This position will require that the candidate work together not only with other technologists but, over time, also with business colleagues in the development of the system. The team follows agile methodology with self-organizing teams where every individual is empowered to take critical decisions.
Role and Responsibilities:Develop new functionality for and maintain the company's AxessIQ platform.Initiatives include development within the order entry/management system, product enhancements and new workflows for trading, and server-side programming and messagingPerform above duties utilizing PostgreSQL, Java, Spring Boot, Camel, Maven, Elastic Search.Improve the scale and performance of the growing systemProduction support, including investigating and fixing production issuesCoordinate with business analysts and quality assurance on a daily basisPresent technical designs of work performed to the various groups (including Development, QA, BA and the business) Required Technical Skills:5-7 years of enterprise software development experienceExcellent Core Java skillsEnterprise RDBMS (ideally PostgreSQL)Experience with container-based event-driven micro services architecture using Docker, Kubernetes.Proven record with AWS services - Kinesis, AppSync, Cognito, Lambdas, IAM, API Gateway.Experience with high-speed, high-volume transactional systems Good understanding of object-oriented design patternsExtensive experience in multi-threaded programmingExperience working with FIX messagingExperience working in Agile EnvironmentWeb development using HTML5, JavaScript, ReachJS, GraphQL Other requirements:BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subjectStrong verbal and written communication skillsOrganizational and problem resolution skillsThe profile of a team-player who forms strong relationships with colleagues and has good interpersonal skills Ability to deal with changing priorities
