Responsibilities of Indirect Buyer: Process and raises non-production requisitions, raises purchase orders and processes acknowledgements, monitors deliveries and ensuring system integrity is maintained,Operate purchasing systems, maintain databases and records,Resolves shipping discrepancies and invoice variances expeditiously,Actively participate and work closely with the local site management team and relevant departments in the identification of cost reduction opportunities,Plans and monitors implementation of re-sourcing initiatives, to achieve savings,Obtain competitive bids, analyze costs and negotiate/award contracts to vendors of total costs to the company commensurate with financial risks, quality standards, and delivery capabilities.Drive continuous improvement in the supply base by communicating objective performance metrics, focused on lead time reduction, on-time delivery improvement, quality improvement, and cost reduction.Consistent with Operational Excellence focus, participate in Value Stream Mapping and Kaizen events that will eliminate waste and result in significant benefits (Growth, Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost) throughout the supply chain.Interfaces with Quality, Manufacturing, Engineering, Strategic Sourcing, and Suppliers to resolve quality and/or delivery issuesProvides support to the Tactical Buyers including: Progressing supplier over-due orders, expedite/de-expedite/cancel purchase orders as directedProvide information in the form of reports and statisticsPlacement of purchase orders as directedAdministrative tasks For this Indirect Buyer role, my client is looking for a Indirect Buyer with the following Qualifications, Experience & Qualifications:2 years' experience within a buying role - in-direct sourcing desirable,Buying experience within an Enginering, Manufacturing, Production or Industrial Process environment Experience of negotiation with Suppliers.Exposure to qualification processes and Supplier performance metrics.Exposure to e-Sourcing tools desirable.Certification in or working towards CIPS would be an advantageExposure to MRP Systems and proficient in Microsoft Office suite software (e.g. Excel, Word, etc.)Willingness to travelStrong negotiation skills.Excellent analytical, problem solving/decision making skills; ability to make timely, effective, fact based decisions.Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to perform and produce results in multifunctional teams in a dynamic work environment.Proven ability to develop collaborative relationships and influence up, down, and across organisational lines.Strong team player.A 'can-do' positive attitude at all times.High levels of resilience and able to respond well under pressure.Attention to detail and good organisation/time management skills with the ability to work on own initiative.For the successful Indirect Buyer, a salary reflective of experience is on offer and this Indirect Buyer role is commutable from Hitchin, Letchworth, Luton, Royston, Bedford, Milton Keynes, St Neots, Huntingdon, St Albans, Stevenage, Hatfield, Herford, Ware & Epping.To be considered for this Indirect Buyer role, please apply via the link below.
