My client is looking to hire a Lead Android Engineer who has a passion for creating world-class products. This is a high-profile role with the opportunity to make a significant impact across the business. You'll work closely with the CTO to set objectives that will empower and engage our users through the app.Key Responsibilities Product Definition - contribute to the definition of product features, getting involved with other engineering teams and Product ManagersUX and UI in Android - have an opinion on what looks good and works well for our user-base and feed those opinions into our design and specification process - you won't be handed pixel-perfect designs on a plate so you will need to help with the refinement to make it meet your exacting standardsTechnical Ownership - consistently produce high-quality software which fits the team's expectations and best practices, and delights our usersContinuous improvement - ensure continuous improvements by proposing and implementing new processes, designs and engineering practices that make the team more effectiveTracking Progress - track the progress being made towards the wider goals of the team, and transparently communicates this with the team and ManagerOperating - take responsibility for deploying and supporting their changes all the way through to prove that they work well - and continue to work well - in productionCommunicate - transparently communicate on your progress and discuss ideas with your team and Manager. Share new development practices, patterns, standards with the teamYour Profile & Experience Either already a Lead Engineer or, are ready to take the step up - you will be ultimately responsible for the technical success of our Android appKnowledge of Android best practices and common design patterns MVP, MVVM, MVI etcIntegrating with APIs using RetrofitKnowledge of best practices in track user actions with analytics - 3rd party and in-house providersUnderstand the benefits of modular application constructionUnit testing skills, a mustUI testing skills (with Espresso or equivalent)Knowledge of Kotlin is important
