This employer is a digital product agency that helps ambitious start-ups and scale-ups accelerate their business by simplifying their UX and creating market-leading products and websites. Based in the centre of Bristol they're looking for a hands-on technical lead to join their small, passionate team.

Here you'll play an integral part in delivering real, measurable impact for their clients - whether that's smashing booking records for a national self-storage chain or growing a brand-new plant delivery startup.

In this role you will

- Architect and build the most complex parts of client's digital projects, from small ongoing work to large builds

- Take full ownership of all technical projects, ensuring they're delivered successfully from scoping through to deployment and beyond

- Be responsible for understanding user requirements and translating these into robust and demonstrable technical specifications

- Communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders both internally and externally. Both in the context of ongoing projects and for the purpose of winning new clients

- Mentor and train junior/mid-level developers into confident senior developers working across a multitude of technical disciplines

- You have significant knowledge of PHP (ideally Laravel)

- Previous agency experience desirable

Their current technical stack is

- PHP (Laravel)

- MySQL

- JavaScript (ES6)

- React

- TypeScript

- WordPress & WooCommerce (custom framework, plugins and themes)

- JAMstack (Prismic CMS, Gatsby)

- HTML5, CSS3/SASS

They're not expecting you to have experience in all of these technologies from the get-go. They hire attitude over experience - all they ask is for a can-do attitude and a willingness to learn. As technical lead, they expect you to be responsible for developing this stack going forward.

Benefits

- Salary of £45,000-£55,000 DOE

- Some remote working post-COVID (typically 1-2 days a week)
