Contract Solutions Architect Location: Home based with occasional site visitsReports to: Jason Frary
Hours of work: 09:00 - 17:00 with a 30 minute lunch
Salary Range: £450-£550 per day depending on expertise and experience Summary of Position:
Contract Solutions Architect, completing a Low-Level Design with a corresponding Implementation Plan and Test Plan from an existing High-Level Design. Either authoring the document themselves or liaising with a Technical Author to provide the required details to produce all needed documentation. Primary Responsabilities: Organise and host Low Level Design, Implementation Plan and Test Plan workshops. Discuss and engage BAU Infrastructure engineers on solution design remit and needs. Where needed liaise directly with the Technical Author on producing documentation. Personal Specification: Qualifications & Training: Desirable: VMware Certified Professional (VCP) Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Linux Professional Institute (LPIC-1) MCSA: Windows Server 2016 Expereince:
Essential: Minimum 5 years hands on experience with installation, configuration and management of corporate Windows infrastructure. Minimum 5 years Solution Architecture Background. Desirable: Experience of working within a Financial/Regulatory sector. Technical authoring. Qualities & Attitude: Essential: Organised with a positive can-do attitude, confident communicator who has the ability to remain calm under pressure. Good time management when working with others or on their own initiative. Having high professional integrity and is willing to adapt and develop. Product Knowledge: Essential: A technical understanding of: VMware vSphere virtualization Microsoft Windows 10 and Server 2016/19 Linux Server Active Directory Domain Services including Group Policies, Certificate Services, RADIUS, WSUS and RDS Networking including switches, routers, firewalls and load balancers Endpoint Security Microsoft SQL Server Microsoft IIS Best-Practice security configurations Desirable: A technical understanding of Red Hat Enterprise Linux Red Hat Insights VMware NSX-T Dell RP4VM Dell IDPA Dell VxRail McAfee Data Center Security Always On Availability Groups (SQL Server) Microsoft PowerShell Application Request Routing (ARR) CIS Benchmarks Competencies: System design, documentation, delivery of required services to the deadline and at the appropriate quality.
