SC Cleared IT TrainerRemote / Bristol (travel subject to government COVID-19 guidelines)6 MonthsLTD - Up to £55 p/hourPAYE - Up to £41.50 p/hour

Within the training team, you will deliver collaborative solutions for use by the entire UK defence maritime enterprise including the customer and other industry participants. The products span the solution space from database applications through to big data and analytics.

Reporting to the IT Training Manager, the IT Systems Trainer is responsible for preparing and delivering training courses, user documentation and support user acceptance testing with internal and external customers, ensuring a smooth transition from development to in-service of new products and services to the Ministry of Defence and industry partners.

Main Purpose of Role

Design and write training programmes and training materials.Deliver training in different forms - 1 to 1, classroom, floor walking also via Lync.Work with the Service Delivery Team to understand the issues that are reported and use the information to update and adjust training.Gather feedback and advise on software updates and system changesStrive to improve internal and external supportConduct structured tests on new and updated systemsTraining Administration - Booking training venues, creating and sending out Joining Instructions, booking delegates onto sites, collating training evaluationsRecord and maintain training within a training databaseWork with stakeholders to help improve training and day to day use of applicationsRequired Knowledge, Skills, Experience and CompetencesAptitude for IT and an up-to-date knowledge of common applications and systemsExperience in designing course materials - Good business and technical authoring skills and able to develop effective training and user documentationFamiliarity with web-based learning platforms and modern educational techniquesProficient computer skills, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel) and Oracle based productsExcellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to explain technical terms plainly to groups with a range or learning abilitiesExperience of creating written reportsSupporting and working with the service desk, and other areas of the businessHigh level of understanding of technical issues which may affect the business including, but not limited to, identification of new solutionsExperience of working with stakeholders/representatives at all levels and demonstrable ability to present and discuss at a senior levelExperience of working with Defence organisationsUnderstanding how people learn and retain knowledgeA strong business and commercial awarenessFull UK driving licenseWell-developed interpersonal and facilitation skillsA high level of organisationConfidence in training and presentation deliverySelf-motivation, with the ability to motivate othersAbility to work using own initiative and as part of a team
