We are looking for two Senior Analysts to provide expertise in the data, analytics and reporting requirements of the Assessment Division within Cambridge Assessment International Education.  Working predominately with SAS the Senior Analysts will lead the development of statistical reporting to support the delivery of new and existing qualifications, impacting our learners across the world. Your work will make a real difference.  Statistical programming 
With your expertise in statistical programming you will be responsible for the design, delivery, testing and maintenance of data analysis and reporting processes, primarily using SAS.  You will contribute to the continuous improvement of SAS code, adding functionality in response to user feedback and business requirements, and will ensure that business critical, time sensitive statistical reports are available to users.With a sound understanding of statistics, you will have the confidence to learn and implement techniques such as Item Response Theory and to advise on the appropriate use of statistical methods. Collaborating across the business to support decision making by senior managers, Product Managers and other colleagues, you will provide analytical and statistical expertise to the Assessment Division and the wider business.    You'll be involved in projects to automate processes, working with developers and data engineers to improve data flows and data availability. You will engage with initiatives across Cambridge Assessment to promote data science, ensuring that the Assessment Division is contributing to and benefitting from developments in skills and technology. What we're looking for
Already an expert in data analysis and reporting in a language such as SAS, R or Python, you will need to rapidly acquire proficiency in SAS if you are not already proficient.  You'll be confident in writing queries to extract information from complex relational databases and highly numerate, with knowledge of common statistical measures. With the ability to deliver business-critical data and analytics services in a time-sensitive context you will have demonstrable examples of how you have collaborated with a wide range of stakeholders. Taking responsibility for identifying and solving problems, you will be responsible for delivering successful projects.  Critical to your success will be the ability to communicate technical information clearly to specialists and non-specialists as well as your methodical approach with excellent attention to detail.   It would also be desirable if you had any of the following skills and experience: SAS certification as Base Programmer or Advanced Programmer Experience of version control software e.g. Git, SVN Experience of using SQL, VBA, PowerBI or similar tools Advanced knowledge of statistical methods used in assessment, such as Item Response Theory and experience of using specialist statistical software such as WinSteps Understanding of the principles and processes of assessment Experience of automating data flows and reporting Experience of using "big data" in Hadoop  Preparing students for life Cambridge Assessment International Education prepares school students for life, helping them develop an informed curiosity and a lasting passion for learning.
