Next are becoming well established in transforming workloads into the public cloud. We are currently operating in Microsoft Azure with a view to utilise other cloud providers in the future. There are new and exciting opportunities available to work with our in-house development teams and steer different areas of the business towards new ways of working.

About the Role

With this role comes a requirement to have an understanding of both the public cloud platform and on-premises infrastructure. The role would be suitable to a Systems Engineer with some experience of delivering cloud solutions and projects primarily in Microsoft Azure.

The role is mainly operational support focused and will require the ability to problem solve, respond quickly to issues and proactively maintain our Cloud platform. Project work will also be required and so there will be opportunity to scope, design and build Azure environments to meet the businesses' needs.

Essential

• Experience of being a point of contact for technical and operational support
• Willingness to learn and further develop through further Microsoft Azure Cloud certifications
• Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies
• Excellent problem resolution skills
• Self motivating and able to identify and define development requirements
• Be able to work on your own initiative and prioritise in a fast moving environment
• Work well as a member of a team
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written and pitched to the appropriate level
• The ability to convey a technical solution to senior management in a clear and concise manner
• Produce documentation to a high standard and must be proactive in knowledge transfer to other teams

Desirable

• In-depth knowledge of virtual platforms and experience implementing a wide range of technologies
• Experience of project delivery in Microsoft Azure
• Experience of migration of existing workloads from on-premise to cloud
• Experience of modernising workload from on-premise or cloud IaaS to PaaS
• Relevant Foundational Microsoft Azure Cloud certification (AZ900/AZ-100/AZ-101/AZ-102 or equivalent)
• An understanding of cloud security offerings (including IAM, AAD, MFA & JIT)
• An understanding of cloud commercial models and ability to provide accurate costs to internal stakeholders based on agreed design and specification

The successful candidate will be expected to take part in a callout rota following completion of probation and may be required to cover unsociable hours covering peak trade or to meet business requirements.
