We are seeking an exceptional individual to join our Newman community, to lead the transformation of our digital services.
The post holder will be responsible for all aspects of Newman's digital estate, providing strategic and operational leadership to the University on all aspects of Information Technology in support of the University's strategic objectives. They will have responsibility for the development and delivery of the University's Digital Strategy and for the line management and professional leadership of IT Services, with responsibility for an operational budget of approximately £700k p.a. and a team of fifteen IT staff. The successful candidate will lead the IT Department and set its priorities, managing its resources and budgets. They will work collegiately with students and staff from across the University, to translate user and business needs into effective digital solutions and services.
To succeed in this key role, the successful applicant must possess a degree or equivalent experience and a relevant technical background and broad understanding of the IT and digital landscape in the context of HE, with proven aptitude to research new technologies and trends in IT in order to assess their applicability to the institution. They must also have experience of the strategic management of a professional IT service and building, leading and managing a high performance team, together with a track record of successful delivery of major projects and experience of working with and managing major suppliers.
