Do you want to play a role in helping HM Land Registry achieve its ambitious plans for the future? We are looking for three Non-Executive Board Members to influence the organisation's continuing transformation.
One with extensive digital and technology experience, another with expert property market knowledge, and one with current HR experience.
HM Land Registry's Board includes senior executives from a variety of FTSE100 companies that makes it one of the most dynamic boards in the public sector.
Digital/technology Non-Executive Board Member
We are looking for a Non-Executive Board Member with significant recent or current digital and technology experience who will provide oversight of and challenge to HMLR's complex digital transformation programme. You will provide challenge and guidance on technology and digital aspects of HMLR's complex work, in particular in relation to the provision of digital products and services. You will contribute to the maintenance of an effective Board together with appropriate corporate governance in line with best practice and act as a source of advice and support to the executive management team.
Term length: Three years
Key skills
It is essential that the successful candidate will bring:
Experience of driving organisational change/implementing new systems throughout organisations;
Experience of digital products and services, and the technology platforms to support delivery of these;
Proven ability to challenge existing practices and identify new and better ways of working to deliver business outcomes;
An ability to successfully link boardroom to frontline execution;
Ability to operate at senior Board level; and,
Strong communications and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to mentor senior executives as appropriate.
It is desirable that the successful candidate will bring:
Demonstrable and practical experience in the public or private sector of technology and digital programmes;
Knowledge of information technology developments, in particular the delivery of digital and on-line services to customers and in data-rich organisations.
Property Non-Executive Board Member
We are looking for a Non-Executive Board Member with recent or current knowledge and understanding of the property market. You will provide challenge and guidance on HMLR's operations and services through experience and knowledge of the property market. You will contribute to the maintenance of an effective Board together with appropriate corporate governance in line with best practice and act as a source of advice and support to the Executive management team.
Term length: Three years

It is essential that the successful candidate will bring:
Demonstrable and practical recent or current experience in the property market, ideally across both residential and commercial sectors, including land registration and conveyancing;
Proven ability to challenge existing practices and identify new and better ways of working to deliver improved services to customers;
An ability to successfully link boardroom to frontline execution;
Ability to operate at senior Board level; and,
Strong communications and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to mentor senior executives as appropriate.
It is desirable that the successful candidate will bring:
Experience of the delivery of major organisational change programmes; and
An understanding of the public sector.
HR & People Non-Executive Board Member
We are looking for a Non-Executive Board Member with current HR experience. You will contribute to the maintenance of an effective Board together with appropriate corporate governance in line with best practice. You will chair the Remuneration and Nomination Committee acting as a source of advice and support to the executive management team. Finally you will bring bring a particular focus on providing challenge and guidance to the organisation on employee and trade union relations, remuneration and succession planning.
Term length: Four years
Key skills
It is essential that the successful candidate brings:
Broad HR experience at a senior level, whether in an HR role or consultancy/advisory role
Ability to deliver business outcomes;
Ability to operate at senior Board level;
Strong communications and stakeholder management skills
Knowledge of change and change management in a people setting including successful delivery of the people aspects of organisational change programmes.
It is desirable that the successful candidate brings:
An understanding and appreciation of the role of HM Land Registry
