My client urgently requires a Unix / Solaris Engineer to work as a SME as part of a large, broad team of technical specialists working on a variety of projects.

TITLE: Unix / Solaris Engineer

CLEARANCE: SC

LOCATION: Derby (remote initially due to Covid restrictions but occasional site visits required)

RATE: £400 - £450

END DATE: 31/03/2021 (scope to extend)

Skills/Qualifications:

*Familiarity with server virtualization technologies e.g. VMware, Solaris zones, SolarisNFS.

*Familiarity with SAN/storage concepts (LUNs, HBAs), logical volume management.

*Experience with SELinux

*Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) process working knowledge of OS security best practices and experience with the Secure

*Familiarity with Red Hat and with the management of Veritas Cluster Services.

*Experience configuring/managing/updating large groups of servers.

*CompTIA Security+

*CompTIA Linux+ or RHCSA or RHCE.

*Certified Solaris systems Administrator with experience of Solaris 10/11

*8+ years' experience as a Unix Systems Admin/Engineer

*Include shell scripting and networking concepts (VLANs, routing, firewalls, subnetting)

*Detailed knowledge and experience with Solaris 10 and Solaris 11 administration, to Logical Domains
