The job:We are seeking a Data and Analytics Lead to be responsible for developing and governing our data and information ecosystem. You will work closely and report directly to the Executive Management team and take responsibility for delivery of well organised, accurate, connected data across the business which informs the Board’s decision-making process. You would be proactive in ensuring that the data reported across different systems can be relied on with integrity whilst further enhancing our reporting capabilities with a focus on driving continuous improvement.The role will involve coordination and oversight of data management in respect to warehousing, cleansing, accuracy, migration and connection, overseeing issues of systems and migration projects. You will develop and manage data framework, processes, procedures and policies, and work closely with various departments to collect, prepare, organize, protect and analyse data assets while ensuring that the company meets industry best practices. Other duties will include leading inter-disciplinary teams, improving and streamlining data systems within the company, and driving innovation.The successful candidate will have a proven track record in data management, leadership and information technology systems and tools. A strong background in IT, insurance and business commercials is mandatory.Responsibilities:
·      Thorough understanding of the business and data strategy·      Lead data initiatives in the organisation and motivate business users·      Effectively communicate the status, value, and importance of data collection and deliverables to executive members and staff·      Knowledge of relevant applications and tools·      Design and implement data processes and systems·      Being responsible for the collection, storage, management, quality and protection of data·      Ensure all data outputs, reports, dashboards are produced and deployed securely and in line with data protection rules·      Provide accurate, regular management and performance information in line with corporate and departmental timelines·      Produce reports for the board, executive team as well as data analysis and reports required across the team·      Ownership of the quality of data, identify data gaps and data quality issues and develop and deliver data improvement plans in collaboration with the technology and business teams·      Reconcile systems and validate data across Power BI, data warehouse and multiple operational platforms·      Implement data privacy policies and complying with data protection regulation·      Data governance framework and policy creation·      Advocate where to cut costs and increase revenue based on insights derived from data.Requirements:
·      5 to 10 years' experience in a senior-level data management role·      Knowledge of insurance sector, preferably insurance broking·      Knowledge of financial accounting·      Experience of multi country and multi region data solution implementation·      Advanced SQL TSQL and database management techniques - a must have·      Advanced Excel and Power BI - a must have ·      Track record of delivering data and information improvement projects·      Experience of managing and interpreting data·      Experience of developing databases and integrated data collection systems·      Experience of working and obtaining insights from large data sets·      Trend and root cause analysis·      Experience of maintaining data from key data sources and maintaining databases·      Experience of data cleansing, data quality and sourcing of new data sets·      Data Modelling experience and the ability to understand where data is missing ·      Strong leadership and communication skills·      Project management skills·      Analytically minded·      Self-starter - be able to use own initiative and work autonomously or as part of a team
