IT Solution ArchitectPermanent, FarnboroughThe role of the QinetiQ Solution Architect is to support the business change during the full life cycle of a service, working with IT colleagues and the wider business to understand scope and needs. Provides high level and detailed designs for IT services based on approved policies and road maps, including oversight and technical assurance for services during delivery.

Key Accountabilities:

* Stakeholder management: Being a trusted advisor in any project.

* Work with Business Analysts to ensure that the Business Requirements and processes of a Service are documented, ensuring alignment during Solution development and into Production.

* Strong security focus is required for all solutions.

* Defining and articulating complex solutions for large scale / high impact projects, including business, application, data and infrastructure impacts along with testing and implementation considerations through defined design & approval process.

* Team player in a multi-disciplinary team of application, data and infrastructure professionals to implement a solution, including those distributed across geographical boundaries.

* Provide trusted consultation to QinetiQ and its subsidiaries projects and service development initiatives in defining or designing business processes and functions, as well as in researching, identifying and internally marketing enabling technologies based on customer requirements.

Key Capabilities/Knowledge:

* Uses appropriate tools, including logical models of components and interfaces, to contribute to the development of systems architectures in specific business or functional areas including the detailed component specifications and translates these into detailed designs for implementation using selected products.

* Supports business change programmes in the preparation of scoping, technical plans, strategies , policies & standards, cooperating with the business assurance and project staff to ensure End-2-End delivery of a project.

* Takes the time and responsibility to understand client requirements, collecting data, delivering analysis and problem resolutions, performing Risk and Gap analysis as necessary to identify, evaluate and recommends options. Collaborates with stakeholder groups in seeking to fully address client needs by ensuring that proposed solutions are properly understood and appropriately exploited.

* Can articulate clearly between the business and technical views presenting the right information for the audience.

* Can demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of specific technical domains, and provides expert advice regarding their application. Can supervise specialist technical consultancy. The knowledge can be any aspect of information or communication technology: Process, Data and Application, Infrastructure or Networks and Security.

Experience & Qualifications:

* Preferably Degree qualified or equivalent experience.

* Experience building IT solutions

* Experience in designing secure solutions for IT environment.

* Relevant domain level certification such as TOGAF, DODAF, CCDP / CCIE, MCSE, OSCP, LPIC-3 etc. or equivalent providing evidence of knowledge and capabilities.
