JOB DESCRIPTION Job Title:GCP Data Lead Engineer Location:London Department/Practice: Finance IT Job Purpose and primary objectives: Key Skills/Knowledge: What you will be doing: As Lead GCP Data Engineer, you will work with Data Pipelines on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) You will work within the Data Engineering team and with the Data Architect and Product Owner. You are expected to support existing Data Pipelines as well as design and build new Data Pipelines. You will be part of an agile team, take on complex problems and design and code. You are not only expected to deliver in your area but contribute to the overall product space. You are expected to participate in the technical innovation within your product area. Support ‘issue resolution’ and improve processing performance on GCP. Ensure the use of SQL, Java, Python and Spark reduces lead time to delivery and aligns to overall Group strategic direction so that cross-functional development is usable. What you will bring to the role: Expert understanding of Big Data, Dataproc, Big Query, Compute, Pub/Sub, Cloud Storage, ETL and capable of configuring data pipelines. Expert knowledge of Industry Best Practice for ETL Design, Principles, Concepts. Possess the following technical skills - SQL, Python, Spark, ETL Possess + 5 years experience with at least one of the following languages - Java or Scala DevOps and Agile engineering practitioner, test driven development Ability to work independently on specialized assignments within the context of project deliverables Take ownership of providing solutions and tools that iteratively increase engineering efficiencies. Design should help embed standard processes, systems and operational models into the BAU approach for end-to-end execution of Data Pipelines Excellent communication skills & team player Presentation skills Team coaching and mentorship Duration of the Assignment:12 months Start Date (please mention the date not ASAP) :01-December-2020
