Head of Reporting and Transactional ServicesUp to £600 per day Ltd6 month contractRemote based / PortsmouthSC Cleared Reporting to the Finance Director and working with the Senior Management Team providing effective financial leadership and control of the business area and management of all aspects of financial performance within the scope of the role. The Head of Finance - Reporting, will manage all aspects of Business Unit financial reporting and the line management of that team. This will include:-Responsibility for the provision of Sector and Group reporting on behalf of the Business Unit including monthly accounts, budgets, forecasts and strategic plans.Ensuring that all financial data is assured, that relevant controls are in place to deliver financial information accurately, in an appropriate format and in a timely manner to Business Unit management team, Sector and Group.Providing a financial support function that covers credit control, working capital management and provides technical advice.The provision of statutory reporting e.g. statutory accounts, national statistics for relevant legal entities.Own key stakeholder relationships with auditors, SSC, Sector and Group.Leading and line management of the UK Aviation reporting team ensuring all PDRs and development plans are delivered and that the skills and capabilities of the team meet the business requirement.Ensuring the service is delivered to meet or exceed the key performance indicators as referred in the Service Level Agreements (TBD).Provide system administration e.g. the maintenance of SAP projects, management of the chart of accounts and coding structure, management of period and year end closure.Ad hoc activities and reports as required. Security Criteria to be achieved: MOD SC Security clearance.Other security clearances as contracts demand. Key outputs/deliverables will be:Responsible for the delivery of UK Aviation management accounts on a monthly basis including income statements, balance sheets, working capital, cash management and order bookConsolidation and presentation of UK Aviation results including relevant contract financial results, variance analysis and commentary whilst ensuring a timely review process is undertaken with the Finance DirectorResponsible for the delivery of UK Aviation monthly reporting packs, strategic plan financials, budgets and forecastsEnsure all external and internal audit issues are satisfactorily addressed during half year, interim and year-end audit.Provision of year-end audit packs, tax packs and other Group reporting requirements.Ensure working capital management is maximised and reported, with management of the credit control process as well as regular reviews with the business.Ensure the weekly cash flow submission is reviewed and updated and reconciles to forecast/budget positionsReview and management of balance sheet reconciliations in respect of all Business Unit trading entities.Ensure the records of financial control checks are maintained, stored and reviewed by the appropriate stakeholders.Provision of internal timetables for the Business managing all major finance programmes e.g. budget, forecast, strategic plan and audits.Provision of statutory reporting e.g. statutory accounts and national statistics.Drive improvements to Business Processes, provision of associated work instructions and controls supporting Reporting.Manage a finance team in terms of development, personal and professional development and overall performanceProvision of any ad-hoc Business Unit, Sector and Group reporting.Support and get involved in across business/division initiatives and programmes e.g. ERP roll out Main Accountabilities: Primary point of contact for internal and external auditors in their review of contract performance and associated dataAssist where required in the implementation of new Group policies, changes in accounting policies where relevant and in ensuring adherence to internal controlsEnsure resilient controls, processes and reviews are in place to manage the financial resilience of the business in line with Financial and Governance Policy and customer's regulations and proceduresEnsure key financial controls are in place and operating effectively in all new operating systems and processesDrive efficiencies to improve the service delivery of the reporting function to all stakeholders.Ensure consistent application of Babcock Finance and Treasury policies across all contractsPerform the role in line with the Group's corporate governance policies, processes and procedures including those relating to Health and Safety and IAMMSupport the Finance Director as required Additional Key AccountabilitiesWork in collaboration with other process owners to ensure the full end to end process is maintained as a consequence of any changes adopted.Ensuring the Business Processes provide effective controls whilst meeting the demands of the business and any regulatory body. Knowledge, Qualifications and Experience:Recognised professional qualification.
