EHS Specialist Cardiff 6 months Our customers undertake life-saving activities. These range from fundamental biological research to developing innovative vaccines, biologic drugs, and novel cell and gene therapies. Our job is to supply the tools and services - the pots, pans, soups and sauces - they need to work better, faster and safer, leading to better patient outcomes.We are looking for an EHS Specialist to work with our expert Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) team of employees across the world to drive and continually improve the EHS program at the sites they support. What you'll doThe EHS Specialist will report directly to the EHS Leader managing a dedicated chemical project and supporting the site during a particularly busy period in exceptional circumstances to drive and continually improving the EHS program.Responsibilities:Managing and coordinating a chemical inventory and control project to include: developing site inventory and control ordering system and linking to business database for future operations.working closely with site personnel and Business level EHS to understand and evaluate chemical restrictions and control requirements. Providing details of chemicals, thresholds and determining levels of SVHCs in Cardiff products.assisting with registrations for import, export as applicable to chemical usage and requirements.reviewing SDS creation and underpinning system and arrangements to ensure continued compliancereenforcing and improving chemical management arrangements, supporting COSHH risk assessments and developing specific training. Supporting current operations at site to include: participating in EHS compliance program activities to ensure the safety, health and well-being of employees, others, and the environment.providing EHS guidance and support to ensure compliance with regulatory and program requirements.setting up and supporting Inspections, risk assessments, changes, training developmentassisting to co-ordinating and managing initiatives and programscompiling metrics, trending and supporting EHS committeesmaintaining EHS records, metrics and systems and reporting performancesupporting projects, new product introduction and initiativesperforming associated and other duties as requiredWho you areQualified Health, Safety / Environment practitioner holding a NEBOSH Certificate (equivalent or higher)Regulatory knowledge, familiarity or experience working within the UK frameworkDemonstrated project, program management skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamEffective IT skills, standard packagesQualifications and / or background in the field of physical sciences advantageous but not essential.Good working knowledge and understanding or experience of REACH not essential but again advantageousExperience in Health, Safety and Environment activities within manufacturing environment advantageousWho we areWhatever your role, we bring purpose and challenge into our everyday work.
