Business analysis is vital to our work here at HM Passport Office (HMPO). Together, our 3,000+ people issue 5m passports each year, and process England's and Wales's civil registrations, from births to deaths. It's a mammoth operation. But as well as the technical challenge, there's a genuine pride in improving a service that touches literally everyone.

We're in the midst of a significant transformation as we look fulfil our vision "to be a world class passport and registration operation; delivering the right balance between public protection and customer excellence". And that means freedom: to explore new ideas and ways of working that deliver tangible results.

As part of our Strategy, Projects and Digital Services (SPDS) team, you'll join different projects throughout their lifecycle. But as well as HMPO colleagues, there'll be opportunities to also work with other government teams, particularly around digital transformation, service delivery and public protection.

You'll leave no stone unturned as you gather data, build a deep understanding of policies and processes, and scope solutions - ranging from customer contact to fraud intelligence - map continually map everything back to our strategic goals.

It's important you've a strong business analysis background in User Story Development, Process Mapping, Option Analysis, Stakeholder Management & Engagement.

You'll know how to develop business cases, bring a good understanding of planning, risk, quality and change management, and have a talent for inspiring colleagues. A relevant qualification would help - but it's more important you understand the mechanics behind Waterfall and Agile (e.g. Scrum, Lean, BDD) methodologies.
