Could you use your leadership and analytical skills to drive improvements in clinical research? Do you want to want to join an award winning Business Intelligence Team? Would you like to use data to drive the national effort to find a treatment or vaccine for COVID-19?
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a highly motivated and innovative team in the NIHR Clinical Research Network, at a time when clinical research is more important than ever.
Our Business Intelligence Team is responsible for providing the analysis and self-service reporting on a national database of clinical research which takes place in the NHS. We provide quality assured data to the Department of Health and Social Care, answer parliamentary questions and provide information to a wide range of clinical research organisations. We also develop a series of interactive dashboards using SQL, Google Sheets, QlikView, Qlik GeoAnalytics and QlikSense. These are accessed by more than 3,000 clinical research staff a month to gain insight into the delivery of research across the country.
More recently, we have developed dashboards which are used to manage the placement and targeting of COVID-19 clinical research across the NHS. We provide a range of information to government about the progress in recruiting people to these clinical trials and on the impact of the pandemic on existing clinical research in the NHS.
We are seeking a new colleague to help us develop better tools, to make better use of external datasets (particularly NHS Digital, Office for National Statistics & Public Health England), and to provide a better service to our wide range of stakeholders. The successful person will be part of a significant improvement and transformation programme.
We are particularly interested in people with experience of working with national health datasets and/or with extensive experience of commercial business intelligence tools such as QlikView, QlikSense, Microsoft Power BI or Tableau.
We're a small, friendly team. We try to work in an agile, non-hierarchical way which helps us to deliver lots of interesting analysis together. We're passionate about providing tools that help us to improve the delivery of research. And we're always looking for ways to improve what we do. So, if you are creative and want to make a real difference, we'd love to hear from you.
