Who we are The Office for Students (OfS) regulates English higher education providers on behalf of all students. Our Data, Foresight and Analysis directorate (DFA) provides a range of data collection, analysis and research activities that underpin the regulatory functions of the OfS. We are seeking to appoint a Head of Data and Infrastructure to join our supportive, enthusiastic, and high performing team. Who we are looking for To succeed in the role you will have excellent leadership skills, a thorough knowledge of data analysis, IT and in particular data analysis systems, together with the ability to work with a separate IT department to deliver data management and systems. You will understand emerging technologies and be able to identify opportunities for these to be applied within the organisation. You will work with the head of data assurance to ensure that data used by the OfS are fit for purpose. You will have experience in a similar role already - you will be hands on and used to leading a team of analysts, working collaboratively with internal and external colleagues. Some of the key responsibilities for the role include (but not limited to) are: -Provide the required data and analytical infrastructure to support the OfS data and analytics operations including identifying new technologies. -Ensure key datasets contain the data needed to deliver OfS objectives effectively and coherently. -Ensures that future data needs are anticipated and met, managing external stakeholders, providers of data, negotiating access and ensuring legal (GDPR) compliance and OfS data standards are met. This post is a full-time role, we support flexible working, and we`re open to considering a job share.
