Senior IT Project Manager

Are you a dynamic and strong project manager looking for your next challenge? Would you like to work on projects encompassing both the technology delivery as well as the successful transition into the business areas? We currently have vacancies for Senior IT Project Managers at our sites in Preston or Farnborough.

As a Senior IT Project Manager, you will be leading large projects or programmes across multiple customers, technologies and domains, incorporating business change delivery, to enable successful business transition and transformation.

This role will provide you with an overall responsibility to lead the delivery of business group and enterprise projects to cost, timescale, quality; exceeding our customer's expectations.

Your key responsibilities as a Senior IT Project Manager will be:

Typically leads and manages the delivery of large complexity projects or a programme of work which have an Internal and external High Business Impact.

Provides strong and effective leadership to the delivery team and suppliers; can take appropriate action to address issues

Works with multiple vendors to define project plans which will achieve the project goals and consequent business outcomes with focus on business requirements and business change elements

Identifies and effectively manages business drivers and project objectives to be delivered by the overall scope of work; this may involve developing the business case with key stakeholders.

Compiles project time, cost estimate and business case, whilst maintaining a high-level of business awareness and sensitivity to commercial priorities.

Provides timely and concise decision making information to customers and stakeholders through formal and informal communication and reporting channels.

Proactively manages risk and control through the lifecycle of the project

Ensures project delivery adheres to LCM (Life Cycle Management) governance and assurance criteria

 

Your skills and qualifications:

Strong Project Management experience within the IT managed services domain

Experience of leading enterprise-wide projects, incorporating successful business change delivery, to meet strategic business objectives

Proven experience of managing complex supply chains to achieve successful project outcomes

Competent knowledge and experience of Life cycle Management.

Competence with computer-based Project Management tools including MS Projects MSOffice etc.

Educated to degree level preferably in related discipline

Formal Project Management training, preferably APMP or Prince2. Experience of Agile also beneficial.

Preference for Programme Management training e.g. MSP

Preference for ITIL training or six sigma qualifications

You must be capable of working in complex environments and collaborating across multiple business areas and across supply chains to achieve common business objectives. You must be able to demonstrate decisiveness in resolving issues, making decisions and identifying priorities and be able to confidently communicate, through all media, with stakeholders at all levels. Strong interpersonal skills and strong leadership capabilities are a must, with the need to be able to hit the ground running.
