If you want to make the most significant impact you personally can make on responding to the climate emergency, join Carbon13's Venture Builder and build a high-growth net zero startup. 

Carbon13 are seeking 20 would-be founders drawn from technical backgrounds to join our eight month venture builder. This is venture-building on an ambitious scale - each founding team is challenged to create a startup which is nothing short of game-changing. We ask you to create a high growth venture with the potential to reduce CO2e emissions by 10 million tonnes per annum. 

The first cohort will begin in Cambridge, UK on 2nd March 2021.

What you'll achieve 

If selected for the venture builder, you will begin the programme March 2021. The venture builder is split into three phases and supports founders to:

Meet their "perfect" cofounder   

Get beyond the prototype to create a real, valuable venture   

De-risk the venture process   

Build a business model around their venture which both optimises commercial value and allows for a meaningful impact on emissions   

Secure access to finance after the end of the programme to continue the journey to a scalable net zero venture 

During the first four months of the programme (Phases 1 and 2), we pay a monthly stipend of £1000. After four months, ventures judged to have high potential will receive a pre-seed investment of a net £75,000.  In Phase 3 we will support you to prepare a funding strategy for post-Carbon13 life and help you bring in the next round of finance.

Who should apply? 

For the Technical Founder role, we are looking for scientists, engineers and developers. We are keen to encourage "untapped" talent to join, so applications from non-typical founders are very welcome.
