Software Engineer

Role & Responsibilities:Work collaboratively, and communicate effectively with a commitment to be part of a successful agile team.

Consistently creates reasonable sized code reviews that contain descriptions of changes and testing conducted.

Highlights any issues with a code review that might result in release complications. Proactive in evaluating code reviews in the team and resolving open code reviews in a timely manner.

Be an active participant in all phases of the development life-cycle of our API Developer Portal applications including architecture, implementation, maintenance and support.

Consistently considers best practice when designing APIs and applies applicable patterns across several contexts/codebases, in accordance to agreed best practices and standards. Regularly designs code that fits with the overall architecture.

Create technical designs that are clear, well thought out, and considers dependencies, failure states, maintainability, testability and ease of support.

Develop elegant, resilient, tested, and secure applications

Creates project proposals and designs that have considerable impact or touch multiple systems. Technical designs are clear, well thought out, and considers dependencies, failure states, maintainability, testability and ease of support.

Understands their team's testing approach and uses quality metrics to identify gaps. Works with their team to recommend solutions that are in accordance with accepted testing frameworks and the testing pyramid.

Assesses other code reviews with the lens of quality and value - code quality, acceptance criteria, business logic, test coverage and aligned to overall architecture. Highlights any issues with a code review that might result in release complications. Proactive in evaluating code reviews in the team and resolving open code reviews in a timely manner.

Create custom modules/plugins/packages etc. for CMS and MVC frameworks.

Create clean and semantic HTML/CSS templates

Use DevOps experience so that you can own an entire engineering problem rather than a single piece of code.

Skills & Qualifications:Masters Degree or Bachelor's Degree

5+ years of CMS development experience using applications like Grav, Angular or Drupal

5+ years of experience in PHP, ReactJS, JavaScript, , CSS, and HTML5

5+ years of experience using MVC frameworks like Laravel or Symfony

5+ years of experience with templating engines like Twig or Blade

5+ years of experience with developing and implementing web applications

5+ years of experience with microservices and REST APIs

5+years of experience with creating automated tests for web applications

3+ solid years of experience working in an Agile environment

3+ years of experience developing and deploying secure web applications on the public cloud

3+years of experience with CICD concepts and with different DEVOPS tools such as Jenkins/Cloudbees

Proficient in one or more JavaScript frameworks like Angular.js, Vue.js or React.js

Understanding of common common UI/UX design patterns and knowledge of Git

Experience with Configuration management tools like Ansible, Chef or Terraform.

Experience with Application Container concepts using tools like Docker and with container orchestration tools such as Kubernetes

A keen interest and drive to continuously learn new techniques and technologies

Is self-driven, actively looks for ways to contribute, and knows how to get things done

Understanding of test driven development concepts and supportive tools like Selenium and Karate Framework

Able to communicate processes and results with all parties involved in the product team, including engineers, product owner, scrum master, third party vendors and customers

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

Solid experience building API developer portal and content management solutions.

Expert knowledge of object-oriented and functional programming concepts.

Experience in a major server-less development, including infrastructure.

Experience with scripting languages like Python / Ruby

Experience with developing and deploying applications on Cloud, preferably on GCP (Google Cloud Platform) and/or Amazon Web Services (AWS)
