Manufacturing EngineerUntil June 2021CoventryMy Client an international company specialising in components and sub-systems for the aerospace, defence and selected energy markets is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer, for a large precision aerospace component manufacturer.The successful applicant will be responsible for supporting on-going development, process improvements and transition activities. Qualification and Experience:Ideally Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing / Mechanical Engineering or at least 5 years' experience as a Process Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer, NPI Engineer or Production Engineer. An understanding of fluid systems and fluid test rigs would be desirable. Any other relevant engineering experience shall be considered.Health and Safety qualifications are a bonus (i.e NEBOSH Certificate or Diploma)Maintenance management experience is a bonusStrong Stakeholder Management Responsibilities:The successful candidate will be able to perform following tasks as required;Ensure Processes and future methods of manufacture are capable to achieve the required level of readiness for transition.Work in a team based environment to develop production conceptsEnsure machine scoping is carried out, taking into account required end characteristics.Industrialise new equipment, specifically: -Pre-Design ReviewTechnical ReviewCapability Validation .v. CMMsFactory Acceptance Testing (FAT)Site Acceptance Testing (SAT)Equipment CommissioningGenerate Standard Operating proceduresSupport production area/cell in resolving technical issuesGenerate KPIs on periodic basisReview and co-ordinate with other functions to close out actions arising within an agreed time frameAnalyse existing manufacturing processes through suitable studies, suggest and implement improvementsParticipate in Value Stream Mapping and 3P events involving cross functional teams and contribute in designing and optimising process flowMachine/process capability assessment Desirable skillsKnowledge of aerospace documentation and component maintenance.Knowledge of fluid systems and test rigs.Knowledge of Measurement System Analysis (MSA)Meggitt Product KnowledgeProduction Transfer experience.Six Sigma Green belt Trained or accredited or equivalent lean skills.8D Problem solving skills and Root Cause Analysis (RCA)If you feel you would be suitable, please send in your CV
