Key Skills/Knowledge: # Platform Services - mainframe support (z/OS)           creation and maintenance of installation and operational procedures and standards for the mainframe (z/OS) administration group         provide consultation on product exploitation and best practices to hosted application areas taking into account parallel sysplex functionality  installation, version and release upgrades, patching, customization and maintenance of z/OS and related third party independent service vendor products and apply appropriate lifecycle management accordingly application of service packs and version and release upgrades in-line with  Bank Policies installation, customisation in accordance with operational documentation, functional testing and ongoing maintenance of the z/OS operating system install, customise and maintain all non-application sub-systems (i.e. services which run within the z/OS operating system)
perform functionality and release testing before actual roll out of any new version of zOS operating systemUndertake diagnostic or dump analysis as part of the incident management process. Coordinate with Bank, who will coordinate with IBM and other hardware maintenance vendors and help implement activities on mainframe and associated infrastructure such as a) replacing faulty parts b) upgrading parts and c) machine software upgrades (such as microcode) Ensure integrity of DR and replication process as per relevant  Bank will be required to role swap to the alternate site annually to prove DR (the swap lasts for approx. a year) client will be required to support the role swap as well as tests prior to the actual role swap. Platform Services - VTAM and communications Logical support   1.VTAM and communications support - support and maintenance of VTAM and for providing communication support in relation to the M&S Bank mainframe platform
   2.Create and maintain SNA and TCP/IP network services and definitions for consuming services, such as TSO terminals, CICS regions, databases and remote printers
   3.Provide support for the mainframe communications infrastructure, managing and escalating incidents or issues to M&S Bank or third party vendors as appropriate
   4.Provide network adaptor configuration for all inbound and outbound transfers to and from the mainframe environment
   5.Install, implement version and release upgrades, configure, patch and maintain file transfer products on the mainframe, according to existing M&S Bank policies (as may be updated from time to time by M&S Bank) and/or detailed design documents (as applicable)
   6.Maintain the currently installed enterprise extender service to M&S Bank and HSBC datacentres and apply any required revisions where approved by M&S Bank in accordance with the Change Control Procedure.
   7.Maintain and update Connect: Direct via Secure+ and netmap and provide support for any user incidents
   8.Manage third party software vendors (who are not subcontractors of the Service Provider) as part of the incident management process and where an M&S Bank  and HSBC approval is required, the Change Control Procedure, escalating any issues to M&S Bank where appropriate
   9.Resolve system capacity and performance issues. If required work with HSBC for the same.
