Role Purpose
The Head of Product Management leads their team with a ‘hands-on' approach to develop and grow expertise and capability.
We are the market leader in live video shopping sales platforms. To continue our success at pace, there is a need for an exceptional and experienced head of product management to drive the innovation and continue the evolution of our platform.
You will work in partnership across all functions in the business to engage stakeholders and clients, recommending product direction and value-driven priorities to the various product groups and clearly communicating the agreed product roadmap with regular progress updates.
The Head of Product management will report to the VP of Product.
Key Accountabilities
Identify the opportunity
Regularly report on customers feedback/insights and research of competitors to influence product strategy and impact the roadmap.
Ensure requirements gathering extends to all stakeholder groups including operation, finance, marketing, and sales
Identify potential new markets by looking for ways in which the existing system capabilities could be used in other verticals.
Identify and develop tactical technical partnerships
Identify opportunities within the market and assess current and future position
Assist in developing and evolving the product vision and strategy
Stay in tune with relevant technologies and our key target markets to help evolve our product vision and strategy.
Work closely with the VP of Product to align the roadmap initiatives with the product vision and the business goals.
Define and develop exceptional modern user experiences to thrill and enable customers and prospects
Manage the product roadmap
Create and maintain a prioritised 12-month view of the roadmap and engage in constant dialog with customers and internal teams to clearly communicate the roadmap and to take feedback on its features and their priorities.
Continually improve the processes for capturing feedback from customers and internal stakeholders.
Manage all aspects of product release management by working closely with product owners, the development team, service support and customer success teams.
Clearly show a data driven approach to roadmap prioritization, feature design and validation Ensure that the roadmap is transparent, easily understood, and visible to all and can be presented by key stakeholders
Regular progress updates to all stakeholder groups and the executive teams and providing guidance and suggestions where necessary.
Support business development
Work with Sales to evaluate new opportunities and potential adjustments to the product to support them.
Work with the sales and marketing teams and assist the sales and marketing processes where necessary
Ensure that key elements of the product are measurable and help to drive growth of existing customers and compelling evidence of value for new customers.
Contribute towards developing pricing models
Foster world class innovation
Develop best in class product management expertise across the product team
Attend industry events and encourage team to also participate in this
Grow and scale the product function so it maintains the pace of sales, customers, and the market.
Assist in the structuring of the development team and processes to ensure the delivery of the R&D roadmap.
Team leadership and management
Build and lead a team of highly skilled Product Owners across the product feature suite in delivering an enterprise grade service.
Work closely with CTO, Development Managers, and the broader development team to ensure there is a happy and high output team of skilled developers.
Report on key product and development metrics to the leadership team and constantly look for ways to improve quality and output.
Essential Capabilities & Qualifications
Extensive experience as a product leader/manager within a tech business that successfully scaled
Strong understanding of software products and businesses
Excellent communicator, low ego, capable of motivating and energising the broader team and peers, with a proven ability to create a highly collaborative working environment.
Deep analytical skills and demonstrable track record of a data-driven approach to product management.
Technically literate and able to engage and collaborate closely with engineering counterparts.
Demonstrable success in interpreting technology and market trends, converting these into winning product strategies, and successfully executing on these strategies and have them drive commercial success.
Positive outlook, a hands-on approach and a naturally high work ethic focused on swift execution will be essential for this role as the company scales.
