Lead Developer - North WestAre you a Senior Developer looking for the next step up?Must be a hands-on developer and have used JavaScript/Vue.js, PHP/Laravel and AWS services.My client who isn't short of investment and is 40% up on revenue this year amidst a pandemic are looking for 'VP of Engineering' to help them in this mission as they continue their impressive scale and growth.You will be a senior engineer who has had experience leading a small team from the front or wish to do so. This role will be 80% hands-on. This is a role that is highly technically challenging and provides opportunities to scale a team & solve previously unsolved problems that impact every user on the internet.Benefits; Salary paying up £60,000-£100,00p.a. Pay for you to attend conferences, panels, speaking events, etc to grow your presence.Company equity33 days holidaysCompetitive pension planFlexible starting timesWork from home every Friday (100% work from home during COVID-19)Key Responsibilities;As part of the senior leadership team you will report directly to the CTO & CEO, and be responsible for a growing team of software developers.Develop strategic technical visions, architecture & processes to help engineering contribute to product developmentPlan & build the engineering team's capabilitiesDevelop the 2-3 year vision for the team, and translate this into viable 6-12 month roadmaps alongside our larger leadership teamBuild an engineering employee brand - we're looking for people who can speak on panels, encourage Open Source contributions, organise hackathons and write accessible content about our technology, architecture and usageWhat You Need;Fantastic knowledge of the AWS stackMust be a hands-on software developer using PHP with Laravel(ideally), Node cluster and AWS.Advanced knowledge of JavaScript development (VueJS preferred, other frameworks will also be considered)Experience in managing & leading a development teamA naturally effective communicator who can take complex technical concepts and turn them into straightforward ideas that your grandparents can understandA passion for software development and solving the unsolvable.Above all else, an ambitious attitude with a true passion for solving difficult technical challenges is paramount.Drop me a message or email me at [email protected] for further information
